The Old Spot, Bath Avenue
The Old Spot is a gastro pub serving good food, craft beers, classic cocktails and fine wines in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
There is plenty of drink served here but it is all about the food.
It is a real Gastropub that specialises in delicious food that will certainly tantalise the taste buds.
In fact, the Old Spot has been named in the 2016 and also the 2017 Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ Guide. It is definitely one Spot that you won’t want to miss!
2. The Chop House
Another great gastro pub in the area is the Chop House, which is literally across the road from the Old Spot Pub, which also serves high quality food without the fuss.
The Chop House aims to provide delicious, high quality food using the finest Irish ingredients.
The Chop House specialises in high-end, dry aged beef. Originally, Chop Houses were 16th century eating houses where men went to eat good meat and drink red wine. The steaks at the Chop House are delicious served with some great wines and beers.
To assist you in choosing a good piece of meat, they present you with a “Meat Board”, which showcases cuts such as Ribeye, Fillet, Sirloin, and Porterhouse, along with Lamb and Pork choices. The menu also includes a variety of excellent fish dishes, all served in a relaxed environment.
The Chop House has been named for the third time running in the Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ Guide 2015, 2016 and now in 2017. If you are real carnivore, then you will definitely enjoy eating here!
3. Farmer Browns
If you are looking for the best burgers in Dublin, then this is the spot. The burgers are delicious and hearty and will keep you fueled for the rest of the day!
Farmer Browns makes simple, delicious and quirky Irish/American inspired dishes. They only use Ireland’s artisan, free range, organic and homegrown produce. They believe that quality ingredients can make the simple outstanding.
Apart from the delicious burgers, they also serve chicken wings, ribs, sandwiches and salads served in a fun, quirky and friendly atmosphere.
4. Asador Restaurant
The Asador is a barbeque restaurant that sources the best of Irish produce and cooks in the most ancient of ways. From the open kitchen you can see the Asador on which all of their meats, shellfish, fish and game are cooked over fires of lump-wood charcoal and oak & apple hard woods.
Their steaks are amazing and are cooked according to your exact specifications. They use maple and hickory wood chips to add further flavor to their famous steaks.
The menu is heavily biased in a carnivore direction, but there are some great fish and vegetarian dishes available.
You can eat much more cheaply in Dublin than here, but if you like really good steaks cooked really well, then you won’t resent paying for them.
The service is excellent and the delicious food is served in a smart, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. There is also a great selection of wines to wash down the food and they certainly do know how to shake up some amazing cocktails!
This is definitely a great spot to celebrate a special occasion or even just to treat yourself!
5. Forest Avenue
Slightly pricier than the rest on the list but don’t let this deter you when deciding on a brunch/lunch venue at the weekend. Forest Avenue is one of Dublin’s best restaurants and you’ll fall head over heels for this place for it’s amazing presentation alone.
The food is modern and innovative and is served in a relaxed and informal setting. It is the perfect spot for a special occasion.
If you are looking for “mouth-watering” food that is refreshing and innovative in a great setting than you should definitely check out this restaurant.
